STORRS – The UConn men's basketball team will host Purdue on Tuesday, Oct. 27 for a preseason exhibition contest. The rematch of the 2024 National Title game will mark Purdue's first trip to UConn in nearly 30 years.
While the match-up will not count towards the all-time series, UConn is 2-4 against Purdue in a near-century-old history dating back to 1938-39. The Boilermakers won that matchup and swept a home-and-home in the 1986-87 and 1988-89 seasons, also picking up a win in the 1992-93 season opener at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic in Springfield, Mass. The two most recent meetings both came in the NCAA Tournament, with UConn knocking off Purdue in the 2009 Sweet 16 in Glendale, Ariz. before the '24 title game – a 75-60 victory for Connecticut, also in Glendale.
The Purdue contest is the second announced preseason exhibition for the Huskies ahead of the 2026-27 season. UConn will also visit Michigan State to conclude a home-and-home exhibition series that began with a Husky win in Hartford last season.
