2022-23 Season: Played in all 35 games during his freshman season... Scored 11 goals with 23 assists for 34 points… Generated 102 total shots… Was a finalist for Hockey East Rookie of the Year, and was a unanimous selection to the Pro-Ambitions All-Rookie Team… Following his freshman season, Wood became the highest draft pick in program history after being selected 15 overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Before UConn: Wood comes to UConn following a two year stint in the BCHL with the Victoria Grizzlies… Wood appeared in 64 games scoring 50 goals with 48 assists for 98 total points… In his two years in the BCHL, Wood was named to the BCHL All-Rookie team, BCHL First Team All-Star, BCHL Rookie of the Year, BCHL Top Scorer, BCHL most goals, BCHL Most goals by a Rookie, and BCHL most points by a rookie… Wood also received a roster spot on Team Canada for the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
