Internships
The UConn Sports Performance Internship program is designed to provide aspiring strength and conditioning coaches with a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience.
As an intern, you'll have the opportunity to work with some of the top collegiate athletes in the country and learn from experienced coaches who have a proven track record of success.
Upon completion of the program, interns will have a deep understanding of the fundamentals of strength and conditioning, developed skills using sports performance technology, and will have a completed and professional strength and conditioning portfolio to help them with their post-internship job search.

1. Mentorship from experienced coaches
You'll be paired with a mentor who will guide you through the internship program and provide feedback on your coaching skills. Our coaching staff has a wealth of knowledge and experience working with athletes at the collegiate and professional levels.
2. Classroom learning
You'll attend weekly seminars on topics such as biomechanics, nutrition, program design, and athlete psychology. These seminars will be led by our experienced coaching staff and guest speakers.
3. Hands-on coaching experience
You’ll have the opportunity to work with Division 1 athletes from a variety of sports. You will be involved in implementing training programs, conducting assessments, and providing feedback to athletes.
4. Access to world-class facilities and technology
You'll have access to some of the best training facilities and technology in the world, including: Catapult, Polar, Vert, Metrifit, RepOne, Tendo, Brower, Hawkin Dynamic, and ArmCare. Our facilities are outfitted with the latest technology and equipment to help athletes maximize their performance.

Application Requirements
You must possess the following qualifications to be eligible for the UConn Sports Performance Internship program:
- A degree from, or enrollment in a degree program for exercise science, kinesiology, or related field
- CPR/AED certified
- Passion for helping athletes reach their full potential
- Strong work ethic
Internship Schedule
UConn Sports Performance internships are scheduled according to traditional academic semesters and summer vacation.
Interns are asked to work a minimum of 20 hours per week throughout the duration of their program. Deadlines to apply are as follows:
- FALL SEMESTER - April 24th (4 spots available)
- SPRING SEMESTER - October 1st (4 spots available)
- SUMMER SEMESTER - March 1st (6 spots available)
