As a Sophomore in 2020-21: Played in all 23 games, starting four, averaging 6.1 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals and shot .822 from foul line with 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio... Had four double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 20 against Seton Hall and 12 in NCAA Tournament game vs. Maryland... Went a perfect 6-of-6, including three 3-pointers, vs. Georgetown.
As a Freshman in 2019-20: Appeared in 31 games, starting 11, averaging 3.9 points and 2.1 assists with a 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio in 19.1 minutes per game... Took over as the starting point guard with 12 games left in regular season. Led the Huskies to a 9-3 record in final 12 games, including wins in their last five games... In games in which he played more than 20 minutes, his averages rose to 6.3 points, 3.5 assists and an impressive 2.14 assist-to-turnover ratio... Had four double-figure scoring games, including a season-high 13 points against SMU (2/12/20)... Handed out a season-high 9 assists, scored 12 points and played over 40 minutes at Temple (2/20/20)... Before College: Came to UConn after two successful seasons at the Westtown School (West Chester, Pa.), playing under Coach Seth Berger, who described Gaffney as the best combination of talent and leadership that he has coached... Before Westtown, attended Lawrenceville School for one year and the Pennington School one year before that... Top 100 recruit and No. 16 overall point guard... Played for Team Rio on the AAU circuit, averaging 13.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists per game, shooting .526 overall, .514 from three-point range, and .786 from the foul line...
