Before UConn: Spent the ’24-25 at IU Indy, making 25 starts for the Jaguars over 32 appearances...averaged 8.2 points, 3.7 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the floor and 43.5 percent from 3-point range...ranked 12th nationally and led the Horizon League with a 2.95 assist/turnover ratio and posted 12 double-digit scoring games...prior to IU Indy, spent four seasons at Division II Wayne State...as a freshman in the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season, was All-NSIC South Division Honorable mention after scoring 10.8 points per game in 16 starts...was a double-figure scorer as a sophomore in 2021-22, posting 10.0 points and ranking among the NSIC leaders with 2.7 assists per game...missed the 2022-23 season as a medical redshirt before having his best season at Wayne State in 2023-24, when he scored 13.2 points per game while starting all 30 contests and led the Wildcats in assists and minutes per game...prior to his time at WSC, he played four years at Saint Rita of Cascia High School in Chicago where he was an All-Chicago Catholic League First Team pick.
Personal: Alec William Millender…born Oct. 27, 2001…son of the late Laverne and Alan ‘Coby’ Millender…has an older brother, Alan, an older sister Ashton and a younger sister Lexi…Ashton scored over 1,300 points and made five NCAA Tournaments at DePaul from 2014-19 and is currently an assistant coach with the program.
