Before UConn: Transfers to UConn as a senior after a three-year career at Virginia Tech. Has one season of eligibility remaining, plus the option of a second season, granted by the NCAA for student-athletes affected by the pandemic… Appeared in 90 games for the Hokies, starting 84, averaging 9.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and shot .386 overall, .387 from three-point range and .807 from the foul line… Scored 871 career points at VT, with 42 double-figure scoring games and seven 20-plus games… Hit 5 three-pointers in a game five times… Helped Hokies compile a 54-36 (.600) overall record during his three seasons, with an ACC Tournament championship and two NCAA Tournament appearances… Named three times to the ACC Men’s Basketball All-Academic Team.
As a Junior in 2021-22 (at Virginia Tech): Started all 36 games, averaging 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and shot .380 overall, .373 from three-point range and.852 from the foul line… Hit 62 three-pointers, second-most on the team… Helped team defeat Final Four participants North Carolina and Duke in the ACC Tournament semifinals and championship game… Had 17 double-figure scoring games, including a season-high 22 against Notre Dame (1/15/22)… Made at least 3 three-pointers in 10 games… Named to 2021 NIT Season Tip-Off All-Tournament Team, after scoring 21 against Memphis and 18 against Xavier at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
As a Sophomore in 2020-21 (at Virginia Tech): Played in all 22 games of the Covid-abbreviated season, with 21 starts… Averaged career-high 11.1 points, as well as 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and shot .392 overall, .408 from three-point range, and .807 from the foul line… Scored a career-high 28 points in first-round NCAA Tournament game vs. Florida, second-most points in an NCAA Tournament game in VT history… Had five 3-pointers on his way to 20 points vs. Syracuse (1/17/21)… In only non-start, came off bench to score 20 vs. Villanova, including four 3-pointers (11/28/20).
As a Freshman in 2019-20 (at Virginia Tech): Appeared in all 32 games, with 27 starts, averaging 8.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, shooting .388 overall, .389 from three-point range, and .762 from foul line… In first career start, had 18 points, including four 3-pointers, vs. Coppin State (11/8/19).. Had then career-high 22 points and five rebounds vs. Chattanooga (12/11/19)… Hit 5 three-pointers against Delaware State (11/20/19) and against Syracuse (1/18/20).
Before College: A two-year letterwinner at Mountain View High School (Lawrenceville, Ga.) under Coach BJ Roy… As a senior, averaged 17.2 points and hot 63 three-pointers… Named GHSA All-State and All-Region… Ranked among Top 20 players in Georgia… Started high school at South Gwinnett (Snellville, Ga.) for two years before transferring to Mountain View… Played AAU ball with the GA Stars.
