Will Moran begins his second season with the Huskies in 2019-20. Moran returned to his alma mater last season to work with Coach Cavanaugh’s staff. He will assist the coaching staff with scouting, game planning and video breakdowns.
Moran returned to Storrs after spending two seasons at the University of Notre Dame working on head coach Jeff Jackson’s staff. While in South Bend, Moran was the Assistant Director of Hockey Operations and supported the coaching staff in game planning, practice prep, scouting and all other aspects of the program.
He helped develop and implement analytical player development and evaluation systems. He also played a key role in analyzing opponent video and helped develop game plans.
Moran spent the 2015-16 as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Holy Cross men’s hockey program. He served as the video coordinator and oversaw the in-game video breakdown for the Crusaders, who finished the 2015-16 season with an 18-13-5 overall record.
Moran graduated from the UConn in 2015 and earned a degree in finance. As an undergraduate, he assisted the Huskies’ coaching staff, gaining experience by creating analytical player profiles and conducting statistical breakdowns and analyses of team and player stats.
He also served as one of the voices of UConn men’s hockey, broadcasting games for WHUS 91.7 FM, the student radio station on campus.
