2019-20 (Freshman Season): Played in 14 games during his rookie season in Storrs…Recorded 14 shots on goal.
Before UConn: Played the last two seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL)…He started the 2018-19 season with the Surrey Eagles, scoring five goals with six assists in nine games before being sent to the Penticton Vees…He appeared in 51 games with the Vees and scored 45 points on 21 goals and 24 assists…He was named Team MVP and won the team’s Top Forward and Sportsmanlike awards... In 2017-18, he scored 28 goals and had 18 assists in 58 games with the Coquitlam Express…Prior to going to the BCHL, he played a season at Choate Rosemary Hall prep school in Connecticut before moving on to the USPHL Premier league and the P.A.L. Junior Islanders…In 2016-17, he played 21 games with the Junior Islanders, scoring 15 goals with 13 assists, and split time playing 35 games with Cedar Rapids in the USHL as well.
Personal: Born September 17, 1998…Eric Jacob Linell is the son of Vic and Margaret Linell…Has two brothers, Danny and Michael, and a sister, Sarah….His brother Danny played college hockey for Boston College and was part of the Eagles’ National Championship team in 2012…Plans to major in business.
