Before UConn: Garcia is an infielder from William J. "Pete" Knight High School in Palmdale, Calif. She only played one year of high school ball as a freshman. Garcia was the only underclassman on the varsity team and captured First Team All-Golden League honors. Garcia played for the Firecracker TJ 18U travel team, where she hit .565 at the Colorado Sparkler Power Pool and followed it up hitting .450 at the PGF Nationals. Garcia also swam and played tennis during high school.
