Lindsey Froehlich joined the volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach in March 2023.Â
Coach Froehlich and the UConn coaching staff achieved great success with the UConn women's volleyball program in 2024, the team's first season in the newly rennovated and state-of-the-art UConn Volleyball Center. Coach Froehlich and the UConn staff guided the Huskies to aingle-season program record with 26 wins. Coach Froehlich and UConn got off to a program-best 12-0 start the 2024 season. Froehlich and the UConn staff guided the Huskies to the 2024 BIG EAST Tournament and to 12 BIG EAST victories in the regular season, finishing third in the conference standings. The Huskies made a deep run into the postseason, making the 2024 NIVC Great 8. In 2024, the McKenna Brand was named BIG EAST Co-Freshman of the Year. Doga Kutlu, Emma Werkmeister, and Taylor Pannell were all named to the all-BIG EAST team under Froehlich and the UConn staff's direction.
Prior to UConn, Froehlich served on the IUPUI staff for eight seasons. Froehlich began as an assistant coach in March 2015 and spent the last four seasons as the head coach.Â
The Wisconsin native brings a strong recruiting and defensive mindset to the Huskies, working as the primary recruiter at IUPUI and with the middle and right-side positions. Most notably, helped middle blocker Hailey Hoffman stamp her name in the IUPUI record book in her first season.Â
Prior to her time at IUPUI, Froehlich spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at Northwestern University where she helped the team to an NCAA Tournament berth and two appearances in the Southland Championship Match. Â
Before coaching, Froehlich played collegiately at the University of Alabama, helping the Crimson Tide advance to the NCAA Tournament three times. As a middle blocker, Froehlich was a four-time Academic All-SEC selection and then continued her career overseas in Austria.Â
