UConn Women's Lacrosse Falls to BC, 7-6

Boston College took an initial 1-0 lead just one minute into the game as Emily Ryan scored the first of her four goals at the 29:00 mark. The Huskies countered with three goals to jump out to a 3-1 lead. Bonnie Wehinger (North Syracuse, NY) started the run with a tally from a free position shot at 21:56. Junior Kristen Williams (Levittown, NY) and freshman Kariane Lauri (Memphis, NY) scored a goal apiece in the following five minutes. BC answered with two goals of its own from Rachel Bausch and Ryan to knot the game, 3-3, at intermission.
Boston College opened the second half with four-straight goals to continue a six-goal run, taking a lead it would not relinquish. Ryan scored two in the span as Tara Morley and Rachel Tella also contributed. The Huskies staged a furious comeback in the final seven minutes of the contest behind junior Pam Lowie’s (Cortland, NY) three goals but were unable to get any closer before time expired.
UConn’s April Pollock (North Syracuse, NY) made nine saves in net while BC’s Rachel Zeller made 11 stops.
Connecticut returns to action on Saturday, April 14 at Rutgers in Piscataway, NJ. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
