2001 FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET SALES SURPASS
SCHOOL-RECORD TOTAL
STORRS, CONNECTICUT-- The University of Connecticut has
sold a school-record total of 5,900 football season ticket packages
as of August 1, surpassing the previous record of 5,300 set in the
2000 season.
“We are thrilled with the tremendous response we have gotten to
football ticket sales, especially with five weeks to go until the
season starts,” said Director of Athletics Lew Perkins. “The fans
of Connecticut continue to prove how supportive they are of what
we are doing here in football and we look forward to many more
people making the decision to get involved between now and the
beginning of the season.”
Season ticket packages for the five-game home schedule are still
available for $60 (Adult/Reserved Seats) and $30 (Youth/Senior
Citizens/Reserved Seats). Single game reserved tickets are priced
at $14 for adults and $8 for youths/senior citizens. Season Ticket
packages offer a savings of $10 off the combined single game
ticket price.
The Huskies open the 2001 home schedule on September 8 at
1:00 p.m. against Eastern Washington. On September 22, UConn
will host the University at Buffalo at 1:00 p.m. in a Family
Weekend contest on the Storrs campus. The Huskies will host
Eastern Michigan on October 6 at 1:00 p.m., Ball State on
October 27 at 1:30 p.m. on Homecoming Weekend and conclude
the home schedule with a November 10 contest against Utah
State at 12:00 p.m.. All home games are played at Memorial
Stadium in Storrs, CT.
The UConn Ticket Office is located on the Storrs campus in the
breezeway between the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion and the Hugh
S. Greer Field House. Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday,
9:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.. The ticket office can also be reached
