Jaclyn Hawkins Selected Rookie of the Year by USCHO

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (March 22, 2005) - Freshman forward Jaclyn Hawkins (Manotick, Ont.) was selected Rookie of the Year by U.S. College Hockey Online as announced by the site on Tuesday, March 22. She was also named to the All-USCHO Rookie team. Hawkins, a member of the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, was also named Hockey East Rookie of the Year.
Hawkins finished second nationally among freshman in goals scored with 25 and third in points with 40. Her goals and points figures also led the Huskies and broke the UConn single-season record for both categories. Hawkins was a four-time Hockey East Rookie of the Week honoree en route to leading UConn to its first-ever appearance in both the national rankings and Hockey East Championship game. She also took the league's goal-scoring crown with 18 goals in 18 conference games.
