Men's Hockey Drops 4-0 Decision at Holy Cross

Storrs, Conn. - After falling the night before, 4-2, the UConn men's hockey squad was blanked at Holy Cross, 4-0. The loss drops UConn to 7-15-4 (7-10-2 AHA). Holy Cross advances its record to 9-14-3 (8-8-3 AHA). Redshirt freshman Matt Grogan (Gilbert, Arizona) made 28 saves in his second start of the season.
The Crusaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period behind goals from Kyle Fletcher and Andrew Cox.
UConn put six shots on net but was unable to beat Holy Cross goaltender Adam Roy.
Holy Cross added power-play goals at the end of the second and start of the third period to put the game out of reach. Crusaders forward Everett Sheen scored with only 49 seconds remaining in the second to make it 3-0. Mike Daly finished the scoring at 4-0 with a goal on the man-advantage at 1:05 of the third period.
Roy blanked the Huskies with 28 saves.
UConn will play at Army on Friday, February 4 before finishing the season series with the Black Knights at Freitas Ice Forum on Saturday, February 5. Both games begin at 7:05 p.m.
