Tripodi Named Big East Attacker of the Week

NEW YORK - Junior Maggie Tripodi (Syracuse, N.Y.) was named Big East Attacker of the Week Tuesday after her five-point performance against Marquette on Saturday.
In UConn's 15-13 victory against the Golden Eagles, Tripodi tallied a career-high four goals and added an assist to finish with a career-best five points. Her previous single-game record was three points when she assisted three goals against William and Mary earlier this season.
Against Marquette, Tripodi scored two goals in each half and assisted UConn's first goal of the contest, scored by senior Alexandra Crofts (Westport, Conn.) She also picked up one ground ball on the day.
Tripodi's five-point showing moves her into sixth on the team with 14 points. She currently tallies six goals and eight assists this season.
Crofts was also honored for her four-goal performance against Marquette. The senior captain was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll after she recorded four goals, two caused turnovers, one ground ball and a draw control on the road Saturday.

Tripodi, Crofts and the rest of the Husky squad will face Temple on the road on Wednesday, April 13 at 3 p.m. before returning to the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex for Senior Day on Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m.
