DENVER, Colo. - Looking to shrug off back-to-back losses at home, the UConn women's lacrosse team kicks off a two-game road trip on Sunday, April 2 when the Huskies take on No. 14 Denver at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
UConn (3-6, 0-2 Big East) will look for its first Big East win of the season on Sunday after opening conference 0-2, dropping back-to-back decisions to No. 3 Florida and Georgetown. In most recent outing against Georgetown, the Hoyas held the Huskies to just three goals per half and came out on top 14-6 in the end.

UConn and Denver have only met once in the programs' histories. The two last met in March of 2008 where the Pioneers defeated the Huskies 21-13 on Denver's home field.

Currently No. 14 in the IWLCA Coaches' poll, Denver started off its season on a five-game win streak, but the Pioneers suffered their first loss of the season on March 3, losing to Colorado 14-3. Since then, Denver won two games back-to-back against Vermont and then Temple in its conference opener.

After starting off their league schedule 1-0, the Pioneers picked up their second loss of the season to No. 3 Florida, losing to the Gators 15-8 on March 25. Denver junior Audrey Schreck scored three of eight goals for the Pioneers, her first hat trick of the season.
