No. 5 Huskies Blank Villanova, 6-0

STORRS, Conn. – Sophomore Jessica Dembrowski scored twice to lead the No. 5 UConn field hockey team (12-2, 5-0 BIG EAST) over Villanova (5-8, 2-3), 6-0, Friday afternoon at the Sherman Family Sports Complex.
Junior Antonia Tiedtke, junior Svea Boker and freshman Abby Gooderham also scored while freshman Lindsay Dickinson added her first career goal against the Wildcats. Gooderham also notched two assists.
Dembrowski scored the first goal of the game as she deflected a Gooderham shot on a penalty corner chance at 6:12. Gooderham added a goal of her own off a penalty corner at 9:14.
Dembrowski notched her second goal on nearly an identical play to her first, deflecting Gooderham's shot at 16:24. Boker drove into the circle and chipped a shot over the goalkeeper at 29:35. Tiedke scored with just three seconds left in the half as she joined the play after inserting a corner, picked up a rebound and scored.
Dickinson tallied the only goal of the second half, taking a rebound and shooting it into the cage in between the keeper and the near post.
Redshirt freshman Cheyenne Sprecher tallied five saves in goal and UConn notched its seventh shutout of the year.
The Huskies are back in action against No. 1 North Carolina Sunday at 11 a.m. in Newton, Mass.
