STORRS, Conn. – Redshirt senior Cecile Pieper tallied five points as the No. 5 UConn field hockey team (13-3, 6-0 BIG EAST) beat No. 19 Liberty (10-5, 5-1), 6-1, Thursday evening. With the win, the Huskies clinched at least a share of their sixth straight BIG EAST regular season championship and the program's 18^th overall.

Pieper scored once and added three assists. Freshman Maddy Wray, sophomore Kourtney Kennedy, junior Antonia Tiedtke, junior Svea Boker and sophomore Vivienne Tucker also scored for the Huskies.

Tiedtke notched the first goal of the game at 8:12 after Pieper picked up her own rebound and found Tiedtke at the side of the cage. Wray added a goal just 1:18 later after another pass from Pieper, this one across the goal.

Boker scored at 20:57, deflecting Abby Gooderham's shot off a penalty corner. Pieper drove into the circle and scored with a far shot at 32:46 as UConn took a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Tucker notched a goal at 48:04 after Pieper again took her own rebound and found Tucker at the corner of the goal. Kennedy tallied UConn's final goal at 50:51 off a penalty corner inserted by Lindsay Dickinson and stopped by Amanda Collins.

Liberty added its only goal at 64:32, but the Huskies were able to hold them scoreless for the last 10 minutes.

Redshirt freshman Cheyenne Sprecher tallied seven saves against the Flames.

UConn held Agueda Moroni, who came into the contest averaging an NCAA-high 3.57 points per game, to just one goal.

UConn will officially have the top overall seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, which will be held Nov. 2 and 4 in Lynchburg, Va.

The Huskies are back in action at No. 24 Boston University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
