UConn Opens up Hockey East Play with Road Trip to Vermont

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team (2-0-0) will open up Hockey East play this Saturday, Oct. 6 against Vermont. Puck drop is slated for 4 p.m.

Heading into the Matchup…
- This will be the first of three matchups with the Catamounts this season. The Huskies lead the all-time series with Vermont 25-10-4.
- Wong's performance over the weekend earned the freshman the conference's first Rookie of the Week for 2018-19.
Last Time Out…
UConn enters the game after sweeping their opening series with St. Cloud State. Freshman defender Camryn Wong netted both game-deciding goals and Catherine Crawley also found the back of the net twice, while Natalie Snodgrass and Morgan Wabick each scored one goal apiece, respectively. Morgan Fisher manned the net for the Huskies, recording 60 saves.
Leading the Pack…
Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
Next Up…
UConn will travel to New Hampshire on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m., before returning home the following night to face Holy Cross in a 6 p.m. game.
