Women’s Hockey Gears Up for Weekend Showdown with No. 3 Northeastern

STORRS, Conn. – After sweeping last weekend's home series against New Hampshire, the UConn women's hockey team ride a six-game winning streak into a huge conference matchup against No. 3 Northeastern on Jan. 18-19. The Huskies head to Boston for the first game of the series before returning to their home ice on Jan. 19 to wrap up the weekend. Friday's game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start time, while Saturday's tilt is set for a 3 p.m. puck drop.

- UConn trails Northeastern in the all-time series, 18-30-11.
- Northeastern enters the weekend with a 15-3-3 overall record and a 13-2-2 mark in WHEA competition. The Huskies are coming off a weekend split with No. 10 Boston College. They won the series opener, 4-1, before dropping a 7-5 decision in game two.
- Kasidy Anderson and Alina Mueller are the leading goal scorers with 14 and 13 scores, respectively. Mueller also leads Northeastern with 18 assists on the year.

Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
