No. 3 Huskies Shutout No. 10 Delaware, 3-0

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 3 UConn field hockey team (12-2) posted its second straight shutout as the Huskies blanked No. 10 Delaware (8-3), 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.
"We always love a shutout," head coach Nancy Stevens said. "Our defense was sound and we gave up just one defensive penalty corner, which is a huge accomplishment and certainly a path to victory. The three goals were brilliant goals. Each was so special and right now we're in a good place."
Senior Svea Boker scored her team-leading 12th goal vs. the Blue Hens while adding an assist. Freshman Claire Jandewerth and junior Kourtney Kennedy also scored. Senior Antonia Tiedtke had two assists against Delaware.
Redshirt sophomore Cheyenne Sprecher made four saves in her eighth shutout of the season.
Boker notched the first goal of the game at 13:18 on a chip shot off an assist from Vivienne Tucker.
At 25:48, Jandewerth scored her second career goal off a penalty corner.
Kennedy also scored off a penalty corner attempt at 47:25.
UConn led 11-8 in shots. The Huskies didn't allow a Blue Hen shot in the fourth quarter. The Huskies held a 2-1 advantage in penalty corners and capitalized on both.
The Huskies are back in action Friday at Villanova at 3 p.m.
