WSOC Beats SMU, 1-0, to Sweep Weekend

HARTFORD, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory against SMU to notch a weekend sweep against the Texas schools at Dillon Stadium.
Cara Jordan's first career goal, in the 78th minute, proved to be the game-winner to secure back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Kess Elmore played a cross into the box that found Jordan in open space, the Cromwell, Conn. native volleyed the pass out of the air and into the back of the net.
Jordan becomes the 11th different Husky to score a goal this season.

Randi Palacios registered her second shutout of the season on the strength of six saves and a couple heads up plays to stop threatening opportunities for the Mustangs.
The Huskies move to 6-7-1 overall and 2-4 in The American with a trip to Florida on the horizon. UConn plays USF next Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in Tampa.
