WSOC Rides Win Streak on Road to Sunshine State

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team heads to Florida this weekend riding a two-game win streak in American Athletic Conference play. The Huskies play a pair of second place teams with a Thursday tilt at USF (8-3, 3-1) at 7 p.m. and Sunday match at UCF (8-2-2, 3-1) at 1 p.m.
UConn (6-7-1, 2-4) are coming off an exceptional weekend against Houston (W, 2-1 OT) and SMU (W, 1-0). Yamilee Eveillard earned American Conference weekly honor roll accolades with her brace against the Cougars that included a golden goal in overtime.
Freshman Cara Jordan secured American Conference Rookie of the Week honors with her first career goal proving to be the game-winner against SMU.Â
The Huskies have 11 different players that have tallied a goal this season. Goalkeeper Randi Palacios ranks second in The American with 66 saves and earned American Conference honor roll recognition after posting her second shutout of the season against the Mustangs.
UConn has a week off before returning home for their final regular season game of the season against Temple on Halloween at 5 p.m.
