STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team celebrates Senior Night on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 5 p.m. against the Temple Owls at Dillon Stadium in the final regular season match of the season. The game can be viewed on Huskies All Access and 91.7 FM WHUS will have the call with Chris Jones on play-by-play..
The Huskies honor its six seniors; Sofia Leone, Alexa Casimiro, Shay Nakahira, Alana Moore, Regan Schiappa and Vivien Beil, prior to the game.
On the field, the Huskies (6-8-2, 2-5-1)Â are playing for a spot in the 2019 American Athletic Conference Championship. UConn is currently tied for seventh place with Temple and ECU at 7 points and trail Houston and SMU with nine points in a tie for fifth.
Here are the scenarios for the Huskies to reach the six-team conference tournament. All the scenarios include the Huskies needing to win on Thursday night against the Owls.
- UConn is the 5 seed if tied at 10 points with SMU, Houston and ECU
- UConn is the 5 seed if tied at 10 points with SMU and Houston
- UConn is the 6 seed if ECU loses and either SMU or Houston wins
- If ECU wins and SMU or Houston wins than the Huskies would not make the tournament.
All kids (12th grade or under) that come in costume or in a jersey will qualify for free admission into the match. There will also be candy bar giveaway for all fans and scarf giveaways for UConn students in attendance.
