STORRS, Conn. – Senior Svea Boker scored twice as the No. 3 UConn field hockey team (15-3, 7-0 BIG EAST) blanked Georgetown (5-1, 1-6), 5-0, Friday evening at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.

With the win, UConn outright won the BIG EAST regular season championship outright for the seventh straight season. The Huskies will be the No. 1 seed in next weekend's BIG EAST Championship.

UConn will face fourth-seeded Providence in the BIG EAST semifinals on Friday at 11 a.m. The tournament will be hosted in Hamden, Conn., at Quinnipiac.

Sophomore Maddy Wray started the scoring at 8:18, taking a pass from Jessica Dembrowski and scoring from the right corner.
After a scoreless second quarter, freshman Sophie Hamilton notched a goal off a rebound at 33:24. Sophomore Abby Gooderham notched a penalty corner goal at 44:51.

Boker's goals came within 19 seconds of each other in the fourth quarter. She tallied her first career penalty stroke goal at 57:31 and followed up with a breakaway shot at 57:50.

The Huskies dominated offensively, leading 21-3 in shots. UConn also held a 9-0 advantage in corners.

Redshirt sophomore Cheyenne Sprecher and the UConn defense posted their 10th shutout of the season.

Before the game, the Huskies honored Nancy Stevens for her 30^th season at UConn. The all-time winningest coach in the sport, Stevens has led the Huskies to three NCAA Championships, 19 BIG EAST regular season titles and 18 BIG EAST Tournament titles.

The Huskies are back in action Sunday for the team's final regular season game of the season. UConn hosts UMass at 1 p.m. on Senior Day. Before the game, Connecticut will honor seniors Boker, Abby Lucas and Antonia Tiedtke.
