Huskies to compete at the 2019 Pepsi Florida Relays

STORRS, Conn.—The UConn women's track and field team are set to compete at the three day 2019 Pepsi Florida Relays beginning on Thursday, March 28th in Gainesville, Florida.
THIS MEET LAST YEAR…
Last year at this meet, Susan Aneno rewrote history and nabbed the fourth fastest time in the 800 Meter Race at 2:04.79. Aneno finished sixth overall but posted the third fastest time of any collegiate performer and her time was the third fastest recorded in the NCAA to begin the outdoor season.
Divine Oladipo took home bronze in the shot put with a distance of 15.77. Amaris Blount also finished in the top-10, in the hammer throw, just shy of the top-5 by 0.61 meters.
A LOOK BACK…
The Huskies opened the outdoor season last weekend the two day UCF Knights Invite and garnered 10 top-5 finishes on the final day of the meet. Taylor Woods and Emma Chee were the pair of first-place finishers for UConn. Woods competed in the long jump, leaping for a distance of 5.89m. Chee was the winner in the pole vault at 3.82m. In all, the team posted 17 top-5 finishes at the meet, with seven coming on day one.
