Women’s Lacrosse Falls to No. 18 Florida, 16-5

STORRS, Conn. – Sophomores Stephanie Palmucci and Sydney Watson each tallied two goals apiece, but UConn women's lacrosse (2-14) fell to No. 18 Florida (10-6), 16-5, Saturday afternoon at the Sherman Family Complex.
Senior Lexi Kenneally added a goal of her own, while junior goalkeeper Grace Beshlian made 11 saves in the cage.
The Huskies responded to an early six-goal deficit with two goals in less than a minute to cut the Florida lead to 8-4 with just over four minutes remaining in the opening half. Kenneally (5:01) and Palmucci (free position, 4:11) scored the consecutive goals for UConn.
Watson got the Huskies on the board first in the second half, burying a free position attempt to cut the Florida lead in half. The Gators responded, scoring the last six goals of the game to claim the victory.
