No. 22 BSB Beats UMass Lowell, 9-4

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 22 UConn baseball team secured a 9-4 win against UMass Lowell on Wednesday afternoon at a windy J.O. Christian Field. The Huskies move to 18-10 overall this season.
The Huskies recorded 10 hits and benefited from drawing eight walks and reaching via five errors by the River Hawks. Anthony Nucerino was a spark at the bottom of the UConn order recording his first multi-hit game of the season with a pair of hits and two runs scored.
The Huskies scored first in the bottom of the third inning on a Christian Fedko RBI single (2-4) and Chris Winkel followed with a shallow sacrifice fly to left that Anthony Prato was able to come in and score on to make it 2-0.

Prato recorded his third multi-RBI game in the past week with a two-run single in the fifth inning to make it a 7-2 lead.
Colby Dunlop continued his stretch of solid pitching with 5.0 strong innings of work, allowing four hits, two runs and struck out three. It is the third win of the season for Dunlop and the right-hander has pitched 5.0 innings and allowed two runs or less in each of his last three starts.
The Huskies remain home for a weekend conference series against Cincinnati beginning on Friday, April 5 at 7:05 p.m. at Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford.

- Pat Winkel made his first start behind the plate since March 17 against Michigan State. The Huskies are 9-1 when he starts at catcher.
- UConn moves to 7-1 all-time against the River Hawks.
