Final Series at J.O. Christian Field Begins Friday

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team celebrates the 52nd and final season at J.O. Christian Field this weekend against USF beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday.
The Huskies are set to move into their new home, Elliot Ballpark, for the 2020 season. UConn is set to play its final home games this weekend and will honor the field after the final game of the series.
With inclement weather in the Storrs area on Sunday, there is a possibility of a doubleheader on Saturday, May 11 to close out the series. UConn will announce later in the day on Friday as to the status of the weekend schedule.
UConn also will honor its senior class prior to the final day of the weekend. The Huskies have senior seniors that will take part in the pre-game ceremonies; CJ Dandeneau, Chase Gardner, Jeff Kersten, Thad Phillips, Avery Santos, John Toppa and Mike Woodworth.
On the field, the Huskies are in the thick of the postseason hunt with a 29-19 record overall and 9-9 mark in the conference. UConn currently sits No. 26 in the latest RPI rankings, a metric that the selection committee uses come NCAA Tournament selection time.
The Huskies welcome the Bulls to town this weekend, USF is 23-24 on the year with a 5-13 conference record. UConn lost two-of-three against the Bulls in the regular season but beat USF in The American Conference Championship semifinals on a walk-off single off the bat of Troy Stefanski.
