WSOC Looks to Carry Momentum into Week 2

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team is riding momentum after a 3-0 win against Fairfield on Sunday night in the team's home opener.
The Huskies return to action with a road game at Central Connecticut State at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 29 and then return home to Al-Marzook Field at the University of Hartford for a 6 p.m. matchup on Sunday, September 1 vs. Colgate.
Sunday's contest against Colgate is Huskies Give Back night. Fans are encouraged to brings supplies for Wings of Freedom Animal Rescue, free admission will be provided for those who bring items with them to the match. Sigma Alpha will be collecting donations.
Items that will be accepted at the gate will be; treats, collars (martingale preferred), harnesses, leashes, toys, kongs, dental chews, beds, blankets, Gift cards to Amazon, Chewy, Petco, etc or gift certificate to any of the following vets - All Friends Animal Hospital, Quinebaug valley Vet Hospital, Banfield - East Hartford and Eastford Vet Clinic.
General admission tickets are $5 and group tickets are $1 for a group of 10 or more. Group tickets must be bought online prior to showing up at event. Tickets can be purchased HERE.Â
UConn enters the second week of the regular season with a 1-1 mark and have been led by redshirt sophomore Kess Elmore. Since returning from her ACL injury that cost her the entire 2018 season, the Liverpool, England native has scored two goals and added an assist.Â
Randi Palacios has been a standout in goal, earning her third career shutout on Sunday en route to making five saves in the contest.Â
