UConn Returns Home to Host Dog Pound Challenge

STORRS, Conn. -- The UConn volleyball team returns to Gampel Pavilion when they welcome Dartmouth, Holy Cross, and Providence in this weekend's Dog Pound Challenge.

This Week's Matchups
The Huskies play host to Holy Cross (2-9) on Thursday night. The Crusaders are coming off of a victory against the Hartford Hawks (3-0) on Tuesday night. Friday's opponent, Dartmouth (2-4), hosted the Dartmouth Invitational last weekend where they dropped games against Hofstra (3-0), Hartford (3-0), and Fordham (3-1). UConn closes out the weekend with a matchup against Providence (5-5) who hosted the 15th Annual Friar Volleyball Classic last weekend. The Friars secured victories against Fairleigh-Dickinson (3-0) and Coppin State (3-1) before dropping the final game of the weekend against Brown (3-2).
Last Time Out
UConn returns home after a tough weekend in Ohio at the Bobcat Invitational. The Huskies dropped games against Virginia (3-0), Ohio (3-0), and College of Charleston (3-0). Sophomore Caylee Parker led the team with 33 kills and added 16 digs over the weekend. R-Sophomore Courtney Morris registered a team-high 49 assists and added 19 digs. Freshman Jasmine Davis recorded 14 kills and 21 digs. Fellow Freshman Madi Whitmire helped the offense with 35 assists, also adding 13 digs and five kills.
Up Next
The Huskies will begin conference play on Friday, September 27 when they travel to Orlando, Florida to take on University of Central Florida. The Huskies will also travel to Tampa, Florida on Sunday, September 29 to take on University of South Florida in another AAC matchup.
