No. 3 Huskies Ready for No. 22 Old Dominion, Boston University

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 3 UConn field hockey team (7-1, 1-0 BIG EAST) returns home this weekend for two games at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. The Huskies continue conference play vs. No. 22 Old Dominion (5-2, 1-0) Friday at 3 p.m. before facing Boston University (3-4) Sunday at 1 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Huskies defeated No. 6 Princeton 2-1 in overtime Sunday. Junior Kourtney Kennedy scored in regulation while senior Svea Boker notched the game winner four minutes into overtime. Redshirt sophomore Cheyenne Sprecher made eight saves in the game.
Huskies Earn BIG EAST Honors
Senior Svea Boker was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week while redshirt Cheyenne Sprecher was tabbed the conference's Defensive Player of the Week after helping UConn to two wins last weekend.
Boker scored three total goals over two games, including the overtime game winner vs. Princeton Sunday. Sprecher made nine total saves and allowed just one goal last weekend.
Beasts of the BIG EAST
UConn has won 33 straight BIG EAST regular season games, dating back to the 2013 season. The Huskies have won six straight BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles.
Scouting the Monarchs
Old Dominion fell 3-1 to James Madison Sunday. Rebecca Birch leads the Monarchs with four goals and 10 points this season. Cam MacGillivray has played every minute in goal and holds a 1.67 goals-against average and .676 save percentage.
Scouting the Terriers
BU fell to Bucknell, 1-0, last Saturday. Ailsa Connolly leads the team with five goals and 12 points. Caroline Kelly has started every game in goal and holds a 2.34 GAA and a .698 save percentage.
In the Rankings
UConn moved up to No. 3 in the rankings this week. Old Dominion is ranked No. 22 and is the eighth ranked team for the Huskies this season.
