STORRS, Conn. – Senior Svea Boker and freshman Sophie Hamilton each scored twice as the No. 3 UConn field hockey team (9-1) blanked Boston University (3-5), 4-0, Sunday afternoon at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex.
Boker has scored seven goals over the last four games, including three two-goal performances.
Redshirt sophomore Cheyenne Sprecher made nine saves while recording her fifth shutout of the season.
Junior Jessica Dembrowski tallied an assist vs. the Terriers.
After a scoreless first quarter, Hamilton pulled down a rebound in a scrum in front of the goal and found the back of the cage with a shot over the keeper at 17:52. Boker scored at 20:30 with a chip shot above the goalie near the right post.
Just 1:49 into the third quarter, Boker notched her second goal after taking a pass from outside the circle and shooting directly in front of the cage. Less than five minutes later, Hamilton scored her second goal as she took a pass from Dembrowski and lifted her shot over the keeper.
UConn led 20-12 in shots and 3-2 in penalty corners.
The Huskies are back on the road next weekend. UConn takes on Temple Friday at 5 p.m. before facing No. 4 Maryland on Sunday at noon.
