STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team returns to the field this week with a pair of non-conference matchups against Brown and Boston University.
The Huskies travel to Brown for the first time since 2015 on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. All-American Stephanie Ribeiro scored the game-winner in the 11th minute to beat the Bears 1-0.Â
Brown enters Thursday's matchup with a 2-0 record, defeating Hofstra (2-1) and UMass Lowell (4-0). Ava Seelenfreund leads the way with two goals after earning a brace against the River Hawks. The game can be viewed on ESPN+.
UConn then heads to its new home, Dillon Stadium, on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. The Huskies will take part in Go 4 the Goal game as the team will Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer. The Huskies will don gold laces while pediatric patients and families have free admission to the match. Fans are encouraged to wear gold in support of the Foundation.
Sunday's game will be the first Husky Roadshow of the season, providing students with transportation from Storrs to Dillon Stadium. Roadshow tickets must be obtained 48 hours before the match and the busses will leave 90 minutes before game time. For more information CLICK HERE
The Huskies are off to a 2-1-1 start with six different players recording a goal. UConn is 2-0 at home this season and are seeking its first road win of the year. The Huskies have rotated in nine underclassmen (freshmen, sophomores) among the 18 field players that have seen time this season. Six of those players have been staples in the starting lineup with Duda Santin, Pato Jerzak and Kara Long representing the sophomore class and Emma Zaccagnini, Jackie Harnett, Jessica Mazo starting as true freshmen.Â
