STORRS, Conn. – Junior Jacqueline Manno has been selected to participate in the Women's Sports Foundation/NBC Sports Group Female Student-Athlete Mentorship Program. The South Salem, New York native is one of few candidates selected in the highly competitive program.
The five-month pilot program is designed to support inspiring young women in their career development skills and network building to prepare them in their career paths. NBCSG mentors will be sharing professional experience, knowledge and insights, and WSF will facilitate career-related programming and seminars, and gender equity education.
"I think it's such an amazing opportunity for her. She's a rising leader in the program and this is going to be great for her to get connected to someone who can be a great mentor for her," said Head Coach Katie Woods.
"It's also great recognition for the school. We are here to compete and play the sport, but there's something bigger that we are trying to teach here. It's a great opportunity for her to learn and grow and I'm excited to follow along with her and see how it goes."
