WHOC to Face Northeastern, Providence This Weekend

STORRS, Conn. – Coming off a weekend and season series sweep of Maine, the UConn women's hockey team returns to the ice this weekend for another pair of Hockey East contests. The Huskies travel up the road to Boston for a Friday afternoon showdown at Northeastern, with puck drop scheduled for 2:00 pm. UConn returns home to Freitas on Saturday afternoon where they will battle it out against Providence at 3:00 pm.
Hockey East has partnered with CBS Sports Digital to begin the 2019-20 season, making all home men's and women's games available on CBS Sports Digital properties. The partnership kicks off with an early-season schedule that includes games provided for free on CBS SportsLive.

What to Know:
- UConn comes into the matchup at 14-11-1 and 11-7-1 in Hockey East action. The Huskies snapped a three-game skid with a weekend sweep over Maine.
- Northeastern won the first two meetings of the season, and leads the all-time series, 38-18-10.
- The Friars and Huskies met for a home-and-home series on Dec. 5/6, with each team earning a road win. UConn earned a 1-0 shutout win at Schneider Arena, before Providence picked up a 2-1 overtime win in Storrs.
- Natalie Snodgrass (10g, 12a) and Catherine Crawley (10g, 12a) lead the UConn attack with 22 points. Briana Colangelo (17), Taylor Wabick (14) Morgan Wabick (13), Savannah Bouzide (10) and Danielle Fox (10) are the other five Huskies with double figure points.
Leading the Pack:
Chris MacKenzie enters his eighth season leading the UConn women's hockey team. MacKenzie has won over 100 games during his time at UConn and has been an instrumental part in turning the program around. In 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
