The Friars responded with a power play goal of their own at the 11:29 mark and then grabbed a momentum-changing goal at the tail end of the first period on a 3-on-1 opportunity that gave Providence the lead at the end of the first.
Providence scored once in the second and tallied three goals in the third to pull away with their first win of the season.
The Huskies outshot the Friars 54-47 and won the faceoff battle 34-22 but some solid play from Friar's goalie Sandra Abstreiter stymied some key chances for the Huskies.
Danika Pasqua tallied her first goal of the season late in the third period. The junior capitalized on a shot from Taylor Wabick that rebounded out in front and Pasqua was able to slide it home.
