North Andover, Mass. – The UConn women's hockey team extended its season-high win streak to three games with a 5-0 victory against Merrimack to complete a weekend series sweep of the Warriors.
UConn (3-3-1, 3-3-1 HE) received help from its freshmen class in the first period with Kathryn Stockdale scoring her first career goal just five minutes into the contest. Claire Peterson got the play started behind the UConn net by playing a nifty pass off the boards that was batted down by Kate Thurman to Danika Pasqua who gathered and carried into the zone before finding Stockdale right in front of the net.

Less than two minutes later, it was Kate Klassen tipping home a shot from senior Taylor Wabick to secure her third goal of the season and make it 2-0 UConn. Sophomore Amy Landry created the opportunity from behind the net before finally dropping it off to Wabick in the right circle.
The score remained 2-0 Huskies until the midway mark in the second period. Junior Viki Harkness jabbed home a rebound off a turn-around shot from Savannah Bouzide. It was the first goal of the season for Harkness and her fourth point of the weekend after three assists in Friday's 4-0 victory.
Assistant captain Danielle Fox added to the UConn lead in the third period with her second goal of the season. Morgan Wabick set up Fox by sliding a pass into the slot that the Unionville, Ontario native was able to put home.
Alexandra-Anne Boyer continued the theme of freshmen earning milestone moments with her first career goal late in the third period to extend the UConn lead to 5-0. The five goals for UConn is a new season-high.
