MBB Faces Road Test at Temple

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's basketball team, which has won three of its last four games, heads for Philadelphia to challenge Temple for the second time this season, this one at the Liacouras Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2, with tipoff set for 7 p.m.

What to Know
- UConn holds an 11-10 advantage in the all-time series between the schools. UConn won the first meeting between the teams this year, 78-63, on Jan. 29 at Gampel Pavilion.
- UConn (14-11 overall, 5-7 American) is coming off a 64-61 home victory over Memphis on Sunday at the XL Center in Hartford.
- The Huskies are led in scoring by senior Christian Vital (14.5), with freshman James Bouknight also averaging in double figures (12.2). Junior Josh Carlton is UConn's leading rebounder (6.6), while redshirt junior Alterique Gilbert hands out the most assists (4.1).
- Temple (13-12, 5-7) is coming off a 76-56 non-conference loss to Villanova on Sunday, which snapped a two-game winning streak. The Owls are led in scoring (16.4) by senior Quinton Rose, who is the all-time leading scorer in the American Conference. Junior Nate Pierre-Louis is the top rebounder (8.2) and Rose is the team leader in assists (3.6).
Leading the Pack
Dan Hurley begins his second season as head coach of the UConn men's basketball team. Hurley became the 19th head coach in the history of UConn men's basketball on March 22, 2018. Prior to his hiring, he spent two seasons at Wagner College and six at the University of Rhode Island and owns a collegiate coaching record of 167- 122 (.578). Hurley made two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2016-17, 2017-18) and was named the 2017-18 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
