WHOC Faces No. 7 Boston College in Weekend Series

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team (5-7-1) faces No. 7 Boston College on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 3 p.m. at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass. and Sunday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. in Storrs, Conn. Saturday's game can be viewed on NESN.
The Huskies enter this weekend 0-3 against the Eagles this season but lead for the majority of the game last Saturday on the road. The Huskies led 1-0 until five minutes remained in the third period. The Eagles were able to tie the game and eventually win in overtime.The series has been close in recent years with BC leading the Huskies 6-4 in the last 10 meetings between the programs.
UConn is in the midst of a tough stretch playing four-straight games against Top-10 teams in the USCHO rankings.Â
The Huskies are coming off a 2-0 defeat at No. 4 Northeastern on Tuesday night. It was only the second time the UConn offense has been shut out this season.
Viki Harkness enters this weekend's series scoring five of her 13 career goals against Boston College while captain Natalie Snodgrass has scored eight goals and added four assists against Boston College in her illustrious career.Â
Freshman goalie Tia Chan is coming off a superb performance against Boston College, making a career-high 40 saves on the afternoon.Â
UConn currently sits in fourth place in the Hockey East standings with five weeks left in the regular season.Â
