WHOC Loses 4-0 to No. 7 BC

STORRS, Conn. - Despite outshooting the No. 7 Boston College Eagles (11-3) 33-22 on Sunday afternoon at the Freitas Ice Forum, the UConn women's hockey team (5-9-1) dropped their fourth-straight game, 4-0.
UConn came out hot with a few early scoring chances including a point blank shot from Amy Landry that was denied by Boston College goaltender Abigail Levy. The Huskies dictated the early portion of play but it was Boston College who tallied the first goal at the 8:43 mark in the first.
Boston College added another goal and entered the first intermission with a 2-0 lead.
The Huskies continued to create opportunities on the offensive end in the second period by outshooting the Eagles 14-9 and freshman Kate Klassen had a great chance on a breakout to get the Huskies within a goal but she was stopped by Levy.
UConn applied pressure in the third with a 12-5 shot advantage but after a Boston College penalty at 13:24 the Huskies opted to pull Sam Carpentier-Yelle and skate six-on-four. The Huskies were unable to find the back of the net and the Eagles tacked on two empty net goals to seal a six-point weekend against the Huskies.
Natalie Snodgras and Savannah Bouzide led the Huskies with five shots while Amy Landry contibuted four.
The Huskies will find out their potential opponent for next weekend on Tuesday afternoon.
