Huskies Travel to Maine Friday

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team (4-0. 0-0 HEA) will travel to Orono, Maine to take on the University of Maine Black Bears (2-3, 0-0 HEA) on Friday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00pm at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena.
Last Time Out
UConn enters Friday's contest after a weekend sweep of RIT last weekend. The Huskies outscored the Tigers 10-5 over two games. Senior Viki Harkness led the way with four goals and an assist for five points, earning her Hockey East Player of the Week honors. Senior Danielle Fox also tallied two goals over the weekend. Harkness leads the team with four goals and two assists for six points on the season. Danielle Fox and graduate students Natalie Snodgrass and Morgan Wabick have each tallied four points through four games.
Scouting the Black Bears
Maine welcomes UConn after picking up its first series win of the season last weekend. The Black Bears defeated LIU in a two game series, winning 4-2 and 4-3. Prior to the series against the Sharks, Maine dropped its opening three contests to Quinnipiac (3-2 and 5-1) and Saint Anslem (3-2). Celine Tedenby leads the Black Bears with three goals and three assists for six points this season. Fifteen other players have tallied at least one point this season so far.
Matchup History
UConn holds a 37-17-8 overall record against Maine with an 18-9-4 mark on the road. The Huskies are riding a four game win streak against the Black Bears, with their last loss coming in the 2018-19 season, a 5-1 loss in Orono. The last time these teams met was in February of the 2020-21 season, where UConn came away with a 3-0 victory at Freitas Ice Forum.
