Volleyball Remains at Gampel for Matches With Marquette, DePaul

STORRS, Conn. – Coming off its biggest win in program history, the UConn women's volleyball team will remain at Gampel Pavilion to close out a four-game homestand against Marquette and DePaul.
The Huskies will open up the weekend against the Golden Eagles on Saturday at 4 p.m. and return the following day for a 2 p.m. start vs. the Blue Demons.
Last Saturday, UConn (14-6, 6-2 BIG EAST) defeated then-No. 19 Creighton in five sets for its first win against a ranked opponent in program history. With the win, the Huskies improved to 9-1 in matches at Gampel Pavilion this season and are riding a seven-game win streak at home.
Senior Caylee Parker and junior Karly Berkland each earned BIG EAST weekly honors, as Parker was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career, while Berkland collected her first BIG EAST recognition in being named the Defensive Player of the Week.
SCOUTING MARQUETTE
Marquette topped UConn 3-1 in the initial matchup this season in Milwaukee. The Golden Eagles stand atop the BIG EAST standings with a 7-1 conference clip and maintain a 17-3 overall record. Savannah Rennie and Carsen Murray are one-two in the conference in hitting percentage with .350 and .341 averages.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
UConn swept the Blue Demons in the last matchup to further its all-time series lead to 10-0, with half of those victories coming via sweep. DePaul has won three of its last four matches to bump its record to 12-9 overall and 5-4 in BIG EAST action.
UP NEXT
The Huskies will close out the month on the road at Xavier (Oct. 30) and Butler (Oct. 31).
