Men's Soccer Back In Action Saturday Night

STORRS, Conn. - Â The University of Connecticut men's soccer team (6-4-2, 2-3-2 BE) heads to Providence, R.I for a Saturday evening showdown against the Providence Friars. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on FloSports.

UConn hits the road following a thrilling last minute 1-0-win verse Seton Hall. Big East Weekly Honor Roll winner Ben Awashie scored off a set piece and was assisted by Big East Freshman of the week Mateo Leveque. The game winner verse Seton Hall now gives sophomore Ben Awashie 3 goals in 3 games.

Providence enters Saturday's contest with an 8-2-3 overall record and a 4-1-2 record in Big East action. The friars were 1-1 last week, which featured a 3-0 win over #1 Georgetown and a 2-1 loss to Butler. Sophomore forward Brendan McSorley leads the way for the Friars with 6 goals and 13 points.

UConn and Providence have a long history that dates back to 1973. The Huskies are 34-8-2 all time verse the Friars. Last season, UConn fell to Providence 2-0.
