Huskies to Host Nutmeg Classic beginning Friday

STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women's hockey team preps to host the Nutmeg Classic. The weekend tournament features Quinnipiac University, Yale University and Sacred Heart University. The tournament is set to kick off Friday at 3:00 p.m.
UConn will open the tournament when they face Sacred Heart University at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. UConn is coming off an 0-1-1 weekend which featured a shootout loss to Providence College, and a loss to Northeastern University. Senior Viki Harkness continues to lead the Huskies with six goals while graduate student Natalie Snodgrass leads the team with nine assists.
Scouting The Bobcats
Quinnipiac enters the tournament fresh off a 2-0 weekend where they scored a total of eight goals in two games which included a win over #5 Colgate. Junior Alexa Hoskin leads the way for Quinnipiac with seven goals in only 11 games played.
Scouting the Bulldogs
Yale enters the tournament ranked #6 in the country and coming off a 2-0 weekend. Yale scored six goals in two games while only allowing three. Junior Claire Dalton leads the way for Yale with seven total goals and 13 assists in 11 games played.
Scouting Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart also enters the tournament coming off a 2-0 weekend. Sacred Heart scored 10 total goals while only allowing three. Senior Anna Klein leads the way for Sacred Heart with eight goals and 11 assists in 14 games played.
The Nutmeg Classis tournament will begin Friday with UConn vs. Sacred Heart at 3 p.m. and Quinnipiac vs. Yale at 6:15 p.m. Saturday's first game will be the consolation game which will feature the loser of game 1 vs. the loser of game 2, while the championship game will be played at 6:15 p.m.

Following the Nutmeg Classic, the Huskies will gear up for a home and home series vs. Holy Cross beginning on December 3 in Storrs. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Freitas Ice Forum.
