Huskies to Host St. John’s for Two Matches

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn volleyball team (0-1, 0-0 BIG EAST) competes in BIG EAST Conference action for the first time since 2012 as the Huskies host St. John's (3-1, 0-0) Thursday and Friday in Gampel Pavilion. Both matches will begin at 6 p.m.

The Huskies last played on Jan. 30 in a 3-1 loss at Temple. Junior outside hitter Caylee Parker paced UConn with 17 kills in the match while Jasmine Davis had 10. Sophomore libero Aset Baker-Falealili notched 25 digs in the match and junior middle blocker Kennadie Jake-Turner and sophomore middle blocker Allie Garland each had five blocks.
The Red Storm is coming off a 3-2 win over Stony Brook on Feb. 14. This season, Kiara Mikelova leads St. John's with 4.00 kills per set while Sheena Yoshioka leads the team with 3.15 digs per set. Four players are averaging 1.13 or more blocks per set.
UConn is 14-10 all-time vs. St. John's. The teams last met on. Sept. 15, 2018, a 3-0 win for the Red Storm.
