LUBBOCK, Texas - A six-run eighth inning for the No. 9 ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders helped secure a 10-3 win to take the second game of the series against the Huskies (4-8) on Saturday afternoon at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

Trailing 4-3, the Huskies got the tying run to third base in the fifth, sixth and seven inning but were unable to push the tying run across.

In the sixth, Kyler Fedko doubled to left field to place runners at second and third with one out. Ciaran Devenney popped up to shallow left and Dru Baker inearly dropped the ball as he went down to a knee to make the catch. The left fielder then unleashed a strike to the plate to cut down Kevin Ferrer for the final out of the inning.

After back-to-back walks opened the Husky half of the seventh, Erik Stock failed to get a sacrifice bunt down and ended up striking out. Pat Winkel flew out to right and Reggie Crawford grounded to third to end the threat.

The Huskies trailed 4-0 after two innings but 2 YR FR Pat Gallagher settled the game down on the hill with three scoreless innings.

UConn chipped away by scoring a run in the third on a two-out RBI single from Zach Bushling. UConn crept to within a run after Christian Fedko recorded an RBI on error by Conley at short and his younger brother, Kyler, smoked an RBI single to right.

Kyler went 4-4 at the dish on Saturday, his second mutli-hit game of the season and his second career four-hit game.

6 YR SR Randy Polonia was a bright spot out of the bullpen with two scoreless innings for the Huskies.

UConn looks to rebound in game three of the series on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
