CONWAY, S.C. – The UConn baseball team (3-5) lost their fourth one-run ballgame of the season against Davidson, 4-3, on Saturday at Springs Brooks Stadium.

The Huskies loaded the bases in the first inning with no outs but were unable to push a run across after a pop up, strikeout and fly out ended the threat.

12 Huskies were retired in a row before Kevin Ferrer led off the fifth inning by doubling off the top of the left field fence. The UConn left fielder eventually came around to score on a two-out RBI single from Zach Bushling to make the score 2-1 Davidson.

UConn tied the game in the fifth on a sacrifice fly off the bat of David Langer.

The Wildcats reclaimed the lead with a two-out, two-run homer on an 0-2 pitch to John Hosmer.

The score stayed 4-2 until the ninth inning when Reggie Crawford led off the frame with a home run to right. It is the fourth home run of the year for the 2 YR FR.

The Huskies got the potential tying run to second base with two outs but were unable to come up with the clutch knock to tie it.

Next up, the Huskies face off against Coastal Carolina on Sunday at 3 p.m.
