STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team won its seventh-straight game with a 6-0 victory against Georgetown on Saturday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark.
Austin Peterson followed up Ben Casparius' stellar outing on Friday with a complete game shutout of his own on Saturday.
The right-hander dealt 7.0 one-hit innings and walked just one with six strikeouts.
Catcher Pat Winkel gave his starter all the offense he would need with an RBI single in the first and an RBI double in the third.
Kevin Ferrer (single), Zach Bushling (triple), Kyler Fedko (sacrifice fly) all added RBIs to help UConn win its 12th game in its last 14 contests.
The seven inning ballgame was suppose to be the first game of a doubeleader but due to an abundance of caution due to Covid-19. The Huskies have gone on pause for the next 48 hours and the final two games against Georgetown have been canceled.
Game Notes
- With his single in the second inning, Chris Brown has a career-high seven game hit streak.Â
- UConn finishes its first home stand at brand new Elliot Ballpark with a 10-1 record.
