KINGSTON, R.I. - The UConn baseball team (26-16) routed the University of Rhode Island, 15-6, on Tuesday afternoon at Bill Beck Field.
UConn sent nine batters to the plate in both the fourth and fifth innings to balloon its lead to 11-2.
Reggie Crawford earned the win in his first career start with 2.2 innings of shutout ball that featured just one hit allowed, no walks and six strikeouts.
The UConn offense utilized nine walks and five hit batters to tie its season-high with 15 runs.Â
Christian Fedko and Chris Winkel each logged a pair of hits and combined to score four runs and drive in two.
Chris Brown led the way with 3 RBIs including a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Erik Stock added his fourth long ball of the season with a solo shot to open the sixth.
Zach Bushling and Kyler Fedko each drove in two runs in the winning effort.
Justin Willis, Sam Favieri and Garrett Coe combined to toss 3.1 innings of scoreless ball out of the UConn bullpen.
Next up, the Huskies welcome Seton Hall to Elliot Ballpark for a four-game series to wrap up the regular season. The series begins Thursday, May 18 at 6 p.m.
